Gilan draws inspiration from the historic architecture of Istanbul, spanning hundreds of years, for its designs. The Love Bond, where twining iron patterns mesh together to create elegant, yet resilient designs have long been an important part of Ottoman architecture. Thus the way that the grid iron designs connected to one another became beautiful symbols of how human beings connect to one another, allowing for the creation of designs that can only be described as Love Bond. These grid irons are often graced the windows of most of the city's buildings and still do to this very day Drawing inspiration from this tantalizing part of the city's landscape, we interpreted them as Networks of Love.
